Announcements are cold, content is alive

I've noticed that most IPO and finance news I see no longer starts with The Edge or The Star, or with brokers and friends in the industry. It comes from Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, where finance creators break down a company's business model, valuation and whether the IPO is worth applying for. IPOs make great content: there is a story, numbers, a deadline and the question of whether the share price will pop. With apps like Moomoo and Webull making it easy to open an account and apply, ordinary investors can join in far more easily. High oversubscription isn't only caused by influencers, but information now reaches far beyond the investment crowd. The lesson for listed companies: doing good business is no longer enough. You also have to help the market understand you. Investor relations will matter more, including talking to finance creators and investor communities, not to hype the share price but so the market understands the company accurately. Announcements are cold; content is alive. The companies that are understood are the ones that get seen, and the ones that keep being seen are the ones the market remembers.
